  Reported as having fled France with his wife, Marie Pons, in 1686 following the Revocation in 1685. Went to the Netherlands, settled in Leeuwarden, in the province of Friesland.

In 1701 Pierre Rey`s profession was listed as "Marchand perruquier" - (pruikemaker) or "Wig merchant". Acquired permanent Dutch citizenship (burgerrecht) in Groningen in 1701.
