In 1755 the family lived on the Fluweelen Burgwal, Amsterdam. In the 16th and 17th century the Oudezijds Voorburgwal, located in a very prosperous part of Amsterdam, was also referred to as the Fluwelen (Velvet) Burgwal.

After 1756 they lived in the Oude Vijzelstraat, between the Singel and the Reguliersdwarsstraat in Amsterdam.This address also listed on his burial record for 1783.
