Notes
From the Amsterdam Archives: In 1871 Paulus Goedhuijs was appointed to the position of director of the benevolent institution registered under the name `Association for Employment of the Blind in Need`. The goal remained unchanged, namely to employ blind people of all denominations to prevent begging. In 1893 the association moved to a new building at 64 Plantage Middenlaan, where the director`s home was also located at the time. Paulus Goedhuijs resigned in 1901 at the advanced age of 74; he had been employed for almost 30 years and was succeeded by C. Exel.
